Welcome to the Brighter Day Opportunity Fund! I’m Day Rankin, a proud Hattiesburg High School alumna and passionate advocate for youth and community development. In celebration of the one year of my creative business venture ETA Events Co., I’m excited to announce this donor advised fund and scholarship initiative aimed at uplifting the next generation of artists, creators and innovators in the Hattiesburg community.
Our vision is to empower Hattiesburg’s future leaders by creating opportunities in the arts, technology, and entrepreneurship. Through support and collaboration, we aim to inspire success and build a stronger, thriving community.
Our mission is to provide financial support to students in Hattiesburg who are committed to pursuing their dreams in the arts, technology, or entrepreneurial ventures. we can create pathways for success and foster a community.
Join me in making a difference! Every contribution counts, no matter the size. Together, we can create lasting change.
Growing up in Mississippi, many talented students in our community face significant systemic barriers when it comes to accessing higher education and pursuing their passions. By contributing to this fund, you are directly impacting the lives of deserving students and helping to cultivate a more equitable future.
Your donations will help us reach our goal of $10,000, allowing us to provide scholarships that empower students to pursue their educational and career aspirations. With your help, we can award at least two $500 scholarships each year, with the potential for even greater impact as the fund grows.
Our foundation serves everyone, regardless of background, with dignity and respect. We firmly believe that the rights of all people must be protected, and our recipients are dedicated to promoting equality and inclusivity and giving back to their communities. Critically, our projects are local-led by members of the communities we serve.
Join us in creating a brighter future by supporting local leaders and community-driven change. Together, we can build stronger, more resilient communities—one project, one scholarship, and one leader at a time.

While we’re largely self-funded, we do accept additional donations. We encourage you to reach out to us if you’d like to donate. By donating, you help us provide scholarships, healthcare training, and support for vulnerable communities across Africa.
We’d love to hear from you!
